Great server good food. Good serving time from ordering. Would eat here again when back in town.

Don't eat here. Just don't. I try to be very objective in my reviews. However, I've likely never had a worse meal and experience that I paid for. Waiter was not in the game. When asked about certain dishes his reply was "people don't usually return it". I did. His attitude was seemingly irritated that I was there to eat. No refills. Nonexistent. The entire place had only 3 tables filled, so busy is no excuse. The meal I returned was charged for. It wasn't eaten. The manager seemed surprised by my ask to remove. They removed half :( I was very disappointed in this eatery in general. I can assure you that they are only still in business as they are in a touristy area and gain interest from one-time only patrons. I can only hope my review saves you from what I endured.

Ordered the black bean burger. Got the blue cheese burger. :( Um, Vegetarian, here. Server whisked the plate away mumbling something about "um, not blue cheese". Came back in 10 minutes with the coldest, blandest Bean Burger ever. Awful. No apology either. But the fries were good. So, there's that.

Bummed the smell of the steaks drew us in but it went bad from there. I ordered a glass of wine and it had lipstick and something floating in it! I got my steak and it had a little more grisel then I would have liked. Also had a bit of a weird taste. I got my bill and was disappointed after having served me wine in a dirty glass it would have been nice if they comped me for my drink. The manager never came by my table to apologize for the dirty glass. Hopefully I don't catch a disease.

I had the ribeye steak. Perfectly cooked. It was lightly seasoned with good grill marks enhancing the flavor. I also like to salad comes in a cold bowl.

Good place to watch football game. Had the mozzarella sticks and sweet tea. Menu looked good.

We visited the Brick House Grill for lunch during our visit to Hot Springs. The atmosphere inside is very nice. It's in an historic brick building. We sat upstairs and had a great experience. I ordered a blue cheese-stuffed burger, which I think was a special that day. It was a great moist, flavorful burger and the salad side was a nice option over fries (although the fries were thick and looked delicious). The service was a bit slow, but we knew that going in because they told us that they were slammed (I appreciate the honesty!). Brick House Grill is a great lunch (and probably dinner) place, and the bar area looked pretty nice, too. Was it my favorite? No. But it was a nice option. p.s. Closed on Sundays, like most places in Hot Springs. ;(

The food is really good here! Hand cut fries and delicious steaks. The only complaint I have it that the filet minions were only about 5-6 bites! I needed more meat! I don't see how it was 6 oz!! But overall, a great dinner.

    (4)
  • Tammy S.

Very disappointing. The meat was obviously full of grissel and no asked how we felt about the meal! We had a coupon for 15% off the total meal and in the end less then 10% was discounted.

Service was awful :-( Prime rib sandwich was good. Sweet potato fries were lousy. Came recommended, but very disappointing... Bar seems ok, but small

Upon a recommendation from a worker at Hot Springs Mountain Tower (who swears he only eats food here), my partner and I decided to dine here. I ordered a 1/2-lb burger with pepper jack cheese and bacon served with fries. I don't know why thick patties with short diameters are all the rage these days. But it was difficult to eat and dry, even with a generous slathering of mayo and ketchup. The home-made fries were lacking. In fact, I make better fries than what was served. There seemed to be only one bathroom (at least for the ladies) and I wasn't willing to wait over 5 min for whoever was in there to come out if there were public bathrooms up and down Bathhouse Row. My partner thought the food was okay. Not great, but he didn't fuss about it. He wasn't happy with the beer selection, however. There are numerous restaurants to check out in Hot Springs. Don't waste your time here.

Wish that I had taken pictures of the food. The burger I ordered was amazing!!!! Perfectly seasoned, and the fries were delicious also. Boyfriend ordered the 10oz ribeye, medium rare. It was PERFECT also!!! Seasoning was spot on too. Prices are a bit high for the service you get. We waited an hour and ten minutes after being told it would only be 45 to be seated. Seemingly understaffed also, considering it was a Saturday night and I only saw 3 different waiters and ONE busser!!!!!!! That poor man cleaning tables was overworked for sure and deserves a raise!! Lol

We came in for an Appetizer and a beer. No room at the bar but Brenda allowed us to stand in 'standing room only' literally in her path to the bar and have our beer and order our appetizer! The Bartender was cool, helpful, accommodating, although incredibly busy. Brenda! Cream of the crop! Ask for her!

Visited the BHG for dinner Fourth of July weekend. We were seated upstairs and greeted right away for our drink order. We had the potato skin "boats" as an appetizer and they were generously portioned and delicious. Side salads were average. My daughter had the small filet and it was good. My husband and I shared the Philly cheesesteak and fries-both were ok, but nothing to write home about. Staff was very nice, just a little overwhelmed as it was a full house upstairs. Fairly slim pickings in hot springs, so we would definitely visit again when in this area.

As you can see by looking at my profile I write many, many reviews and of all I've only written maybe 2 bad reviews. Let me start by saying eating at this restaurant not only ruined my birthday but risked my health. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I take my health very seriously. I ate here last week. I had a salad, my husband had a burger. When we were seated we were the only table, by the time I got my food 3 others had been served, eaten, and paid!!!!!! Then we were brought the wrong food. We finally got the correct food we ate park of it and got the rest in boxes yo go. Later that night when we sat down to eat our leftover I found a worm in my salad! Yes, a WORM! Being pregnant I threw up and I immediately called the manager. I asked simply for a refund. I said I was sure I'd be fine but if for some reasons I got seriously ill then I'd want them to pay for the Dr bill. I of course was ok, as I thought I would be. So... all I want is my money back. My $30.00 that's all, but apparently that's too much to ask. I'll add a pic of the worm for your viewing pleasure.

It took us FOREVER to find this place, but am so glad that we did. This place needs a definite renovation. Maybe some new tables, carpet, counter-tops, etc. It looks very out-of-date, but is in a great location in one of the older buildings in the area. We started off with the bacon and cheese fries with THREE different kinds of cheese and homemade fries. They were amazing! Not too much salt, but plenty of cheese and bacon. Perfecto'! We both ended up ordering the "daily specials" which included my 6 ounce steak and New Orleans styled shrimp. My steak was cooked perfectly, was well seasoned and was so juicy and tender. My shrimp were spicy and delicious. I was very pleased with my meal. My husband ordered the 6 ounce steak with the lobster tail. He enjoyed his meal 10x as much as I did, devouring his lobster tail in minutes. Service was perfect. Our waiter was back and forth many, many times and very pleasant. (He didn't hover, which I hate!) I will say that my husband did not like the Boulevard Pale Ale that he ordered. He said it was almost as bad as Guiness, which in his book? Is bad. Will definitely be back!

Food and service was great. Nice little restaurant. Brenda is super sweet and took great care of us. Thanks!

Quality food. Fresh ingredients. Good service. I had the homemade potato soup and club sandwich. I recommend both. I will certainly be back.

  • Zach C.

Place has a nice atmosphere. Service was great! Food was average. I had the bbq shrimp that was good but sauce was a little on runny side. Gf had the catfish that was pretty good but the fries were soggy. Prices were about right

Visited the BHG on a recent trip to Hot Springs. It was right across the street from our hotel and the staff recommended it. Based on reviews here, I probably wouldn't have gone, but I'm glad we did! The staff were super friendly and helpful, and my steak was excellent. Hubby's baked sweet potato was a little undercooked, but overall, we really enjoyed the place.

  • Justin Q.

This was the best steak and mushrooms i have eaten in a very long time and im very picky about steak do to the fact i love the way i season and my own. Dont hesitate to eat here staff was as good as the food and the price was great

  • Dennis M.

The cheese & bacon fries looked delicious. I ordered them for an appetizer, but the server suggested I only order a half-order as it would be plenty for just me (glad I did). Ordered the chicken burger too, had to cut the chicken breast in half so it would fit on the bun. Took the other half home & had it for dinner the next night.

Had the rib eye sandwich it changed my life and outlook towards sandwiches forever... lol very good place awesome staff owner super cool

This place wasn't great, but it wasnt bad. I did like the ambiance, which was dim lighting and a relaxed pub feel. The service wasn't bad, but not great. We asked about specials, to which the waiter said he didnt thiink there were any. Then he remembered there was a $100 bottle of wine on special for $50. It was a great bottle but he clearly had no idea, so we passed on it (didn't want to reward poor salesmen). One of our party had a burger with fries, which looked and smelled delicious. He was pretty happy with the flavor too. The waiter told me they had "famous prime rib". I happen to love prime rib, so I went with that. Here's where the disappointment really starts. We ordered it medium rare, because it usually comes closer to rare when it comes to prime rib. What we got was a medium cooked (hot pink, no red). So I told him I wanted it to be more rare, so he brought me a cut of "rare" which was basically the same (hot pink, a little more pink). It was also very chewy for a prime rib, and had tons of gristle. At least the baked potato and caesar salad were good. So moral of this story is to order pub food from here - burgers, sandwhiches, fish & chips, etc. Save the real meat orders for somewhere else! I would still go back, I just wouldn't pay $25 for a strip steak called prime rib.

Food is OK but the service was horrendous. We had a large group which they were expecting. Took well over an hour to get everyone checked out. It was total chaos and I have never seen anything so disorganized. Will not be going back.

    (2)
  • Suzanne M.

Not what we expected! Waitress was great. Kitchen not organized. Salads came out before our appetizers. Appetizers, cheese sticks, bacon cheese fries and spinach dip... Not worth ordering. Had to ask for wine menu a couple of times before we got. We all had steaks. Steaks were good and cooked to order, however baked potatoes were cold and had to be sent back only to arrive after steaks were eaten. Management aware of each issue, only waitress apologized, not her fault. No discounts offered! Skip this one.

  • Brandy L.

11 of us came here for my brothers graduation. I loved the ambiance. We did make a reservation. We were seated as soon as we arrived. The waitress took our drink orders and had them out very quickly. She suggested several wines which we tried and they were perfect. We all ordered something different from steak to fish to a grilled chicken salad. Everything was wonderful. Everyone loved their food. The food came out fast, fresh and hot. The server was friendly and helpful. This is a must if you are in the area.

  • Kayla U.

Bacon & cheese Fries were awesome!! Had the brick house burger and it was also good. & Delicious Bloody Mary after craving one all day!!! Would have liked a beer but didn't have a very good selection on tap.

  • Mary A.

We were really hoping for a good find on this one, especially since it got recommended several times. Speaking of find, if we hadn't had the address, I don't know if we would have found it! The signage on the side of Central Ave. was no where to be seen! The food was okay enough, but the atmosphere was disappointing and the waitress slower than she should have been. In a town like Hot Springs, it's not good to feel mediocre at best about this place since there's not much else to turn to for meals. I don't know who the woman was that sat us, but she looked more like a customer of the bar, than an employee. She got up from a table with friends at the bar, and that's where we saw her when we left. Maybe she should have been working on the clogged toilet in the ladies room?!

    (2)
  • Charles W.

Our server was great and the services was very fast, but the food was lackluster. The BBQ shrimp appetizer is disgusting and my steak was under cooked.

    (2)
  • David D.

Always get a value when we visit. We ordered the steaks and they were very good. We were waited on by a nice young girl from Montreal who was very friendly. Hope to see her again when we return.

    (4)
  • Dale R.

The servers got our order wrong twice. The food wasn't bad but wasn't great. My wife asked the server to leave her 1/3 eaten meal on the table when she went to the bathroom. The server, once again not listening, took her food even though I asked her to leave it as she walked away.

This place is located in one of the buildings in the strip area of "old Hot Springs". Hot Springs is built on tourism so you're not going to get away from that. That said, this place is a pretty decent place to get a burger and brew. Brick house features beer, beef, burgers and seafood. It's a causual dining area with brick walls and dim lighting. Noise level has a healthy chatter going on in the background but not obnoxiously loud. I ordered a Cheeseburger and a Fat Tire Beer. Instead of fries, I requested a salad. For appetizer, I ordered Barbeque Shrimp. Shrimp appetizer was good but just a touch overspiced. Shrimp being delicate doesn't really need all that much rub on it so the spice was just a touch overwhelming, but still good stuff. The salad was nice and fresh, perfect follow up to the shrimp. Burger itself was outstanding, 1/2 pound ground beef patty with cheese and bacon. Bottom line is that the food was good and the beer was cold. Which makes this place A-OK. But there is nothing about this that would make me nostalgic for it.

The service is awful. Took forever to get food and isn't great quality. Don't waste your time.

    (1)
  • David R.

    Good prime rib, prime sandwiches.

    (4)
  • Chris J.

Awful. The food was mediocre at best, typical bar and grill fare poorly executed. Overcooked vegetables, minimal flavor, low quality meat and seafood. The service was truly awful. Took nearly an hour to get our food and the manager and waitress knew it was bad but did nothing until we asked what happened. They said sorry and tried to push a free dessert on us as an apology. When asked why they didn't give us some communication during the delay, we got shoulder shrugs and indifference. I know it's a tourist town and they don't have to care, so they didn't. Even with fantastic service this is a three star at best joint. Try somewhere else if you're visiting. And for the record I still left a tip because I just can't bring myself to stiff someone.

    (1)
  • Andy G.

The service was great. The combo sampler was all frozen food except the potato boats, which were great. My wife and I's sirloins were good but also the fattiest cuts of sirloin I ever had. Plus the mashed potatoes are obviously instant. That was crazy because they had some of the largest baked potatoes I had ever seen. Also the key lime pie was freezer burned.

Late lunch, early dinner. Crowded as we entered, emptied out, partly because we were there too long. Waited for server, hostess ended up bringing us drinks. Ordered a couples of burgers, which were good, but they took over 15 minutes to get to us. Two medium rare burgers, come on man!Fries were tasteless, onion rings no better. Gave credit card to hostess to pay for check, she walked around with it for a few minutes (always scary), then gave it to the waitress, because part of the order was not on the bill. Finally brought the receipt to sign with a pen that did not work. Why would you want to go back to a place like this?

    (1)
  • Natalie G.

Great burger. We both had brick house burger it had great flavor, bun was soft. Iced tea was decent but a little weak for my liking. Service was good as well.

  • Michael J.

We're from Philly so I was pleasantly surprised that the Arky Philly cheese steak was an actual perfectly grilled steak chopped upon a hoagie roll with onions and cheese. They also knew enough that authentic Philly cheese steaks do not come with peppers. It was enough for two people. My wife ordered the grilled chicken over salad which was perfectly grilled and huge, enough for leftovers. Prices were reasonable and service was bend over backwards accommodating. We sat in the pub which seemed to have more atmosphere than the restaurant. A real find.

    (5)
  • Molly D.

This place was terrible. I ordered the Brick House burger. It was extremely overcooked and dry. The fries were soggy, not crispy. Our server took several smoke breaks directly outside of the window that we were sitting next to. This was off-putting and disgusting. The overall experience here was awful- go somewhere else!!

    (1)
  • Stephen H.

Let's start with how we were greeted. As my wife, son and I were greeted the hostess gave our son a very odd look that both my wife and I noticed immediately. It made us think that our young son was definitely not going to be welcome. We have been several times but not in the last couple of years. We knew that by going early, it would be a place for a family friendly meal but apparently they don't like to have kids eat there. Once seated our waitress was friendly but not very attentive. We ordered and waited quite some time for our food. No bread was brought to our table while she brought some to both tables next to us. Once the food arrived my son's chicken was very tough. I had difficulty chewing it. My wife ordered her steak medium and it arrived rare, very rare. It had to be sent back. My plate arrived with no sides. Just the meat. When it came time to pay and leave, another waitress had to take our check because our waitress disappeared. After being a fan and recommending the place to others, I will not be back.

This is the place! Fantastic people & fantastic food! If you're in Hot Springs you have to eat here! And you need prime rib & bacon cheese fries! The au jus with bits of rosemary was divine!

I got the all beef bacon wrapped dog w/ homemade fries. This ain't a sonic dog that's for sure, it was delish.

  • Steve A.

Great place for a burger and beer, but that is not all they have on the menu. Salad was fresh, and they have a number of other sandwiches plus finer dinner items. Service was attentive and prompt. Decor wasn't something that would impress, but it was clean and comfortable. Prices were reasonable as well.

    (4)
  • J B.

3 and 1/2 stars really. Great prime rib and steaks. Service was very good. Great building, great bar atmosphere, but dining area is boring and lack luster. Tables and chairs look like your local sandwich shop.

    (3)
  • Laura A.

The atmosphere was a little bland, but the steak made up for it. It was cooked just how I asked and seasoned really well.

    (4)
  • Regina M.

Prime rib sandwich was huge and cooked to order. Service was good and the beverage was kept full. Atmosphere was pleasant. Seemed to be popular with locals.

    (4)
  • Tom W.

Great lunch seated at the bar today. The mushroom Swiss burger rocked and the cheese fries rivaled some of the best I have had. Good job! We were first seated in the dining room but quickly opted for bar seating. Four stars would have been an easy achievement with a little more atmosphere. The dining room could use some updating.

    (3)
  • Greg E.

Great atmosphere on the deck and Martinis were really good although a little on the small side. We both had steaks which were cooked perfectly. The filet was wrapped in bacon and really good. Would definitely go back

Typo from earlier. Husband was NOT disappointed with prime rib.

September 10, 2011. Hot Springs Bike Rally Weekend Several people told me that The Brick House has THE BEST Potato Soup. So we stopped in for a bowl. And I have to tell you... it was pretty darn good. This is a thick soup with chucks of potato topped with cheddar cheese and bacon. Thick, creamy, velvety goodness. There was no trace of flour. Not grainy at all. The potatoes were cooked through, but not over done. They still had all their texture but none of the grainy/mushiness. The rest of the table had a mix of Turkey or Club 1/2 Sandwiches with their soup. And everybody said they were good. From what I seen: lightly toasted bread with crisp lettuce, fresh sliced tomatoes and a ton of meat. With a pickle spear on the side. Service was top notch. Restrooms were clean, but kinda funky at the same time. But, then again, what can you do with a 1000-year-old building!

  • Joe L.

I eat at this place often and love it every time. They have the best prime rib in the area. It's good for lunch with friends and good for a date. The service is great, as well. It's a really nice place and I'm positive you'll love it. p.s. Did I mention the prime rib? Get the prime rib.

  • Laura M.

I think I would have given this place more stars if it were not for the waitress we had. I think the waitress was put off by us due to the food allergies one of us had. We asked simple questions of what was in the food or if they had a special food allergy menu (lots of places now have food allergy menus) but she seemed clueless about what we were talking about. When we finally said "allergic" to something she understood more, but really could not tell us if the food did or did not have a specific ingredient. As for the food, it was excellent. I had a great Turkey and bacon sandwich. The baked sweet potato was great too. Will go back and try the steak. I hope to get a different server though.

    (3)
  • Steve K.

It was fine. And I don't mean "fine dining". Just fine.

    (2)
  • Michael H.

Had a NY Strip, medium, baked sweet potato, and Cesar salad. Overall it was a good steak, not great, but good. I really enjoyed the sweet potato, and butter! if u like a good wine with your steak then this isn't the place, but u get what u pay for. I will go back, but understand now what to expect when going there. Cool bar and surrounding places. 4 out of 5

    (4)
  • Heather K.

Heaven is Brick House's prime rib sandwich, medium rare, served au jus. I also like their sirloin salad, although they tend to go a little overboard with the cheese. Their house dressing is some type of wine and cheese flavor that sounds gross when the waiter rattles the list off to you, but it's actually pretty damn tasty. According to my friends, their burgers are great. I think they have Fat Tire specials on Tuesdays.

    (5)
  • Brandi B.

Food very good. Room very smokey. Definitely recommend. We had table of six, and everyone enjoyed their dish.
